Your workshop resources

From audience understanding to actionable strategy.

Two practical resources to help you design, build and test synthetic audiences grounded in real stakeholder beliefs, emotions and behaviors.

Synthetic Audience Strategy Blueprint

Start here: Design your synthetic audience.

The companion worksheet for our workshop. Define your communications challenge, identify your audience, find authentic stakeholder voices, explore emotional drivers, and design a message-testing experiment with a validation plan.

Synthetic Audience Builder Checklist

Next: Put your strategy into practice.

An eight-step guide to gathering credible research, developing audience simulations, challenging assumptions, testing responses & validating findings before applying them to real communications decisions.

Four things worth remembering

Understand what people love, not just what they resist.

Fear, frustration, and skepticism matter. But so do joy, pride, loyalty, belonging, and excitement. Strong emotional connections often involve several feelings at once.

Make the AI challenge you.

One of the biggest lessons from our renewable energy case study: an agreeable AI isn’t necessarily a useful AI. Sometimes the most valuable insights come when the simulation pushes back.

Don’t confuse convincing with accurate.

AI can create a surprisingly believable persona. That doesn’t mean it always accurately represents your audience. The quality of your sources, testing, and validation matters.

Keep the human in charge.

Synthetic audiences can help us ask better questions, understand motivations and explore possibilities. They should never replace real stakeholder engagement or sound human judgment.
